John McCaherty, Neighbor

John was born in 1965, at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, to John J. and Sandra McCaherty (now Trumbo). John graduated from Airline High School, Bossier City La and is a graduate from Liberty Home Bible Institute. He has a Bachelors and Masters degree from Liberty University.

John is the State Rep. for District 90 (and candidate for the newly formed 97th) as well as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Murphy in Fenton Mo. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He and his wonderful wife Chris, of 26 years, live and work in Jefferson and South County areas. With all of the moving around of politicians because of the new districts, John and his wife are committed to this area. 

As for experience, John was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2010, he has had 17 years experience as a pastor and 20+ years experience in small business where he has worked in service industries, sales and management.

John and Chris have two great sons; the oldest (John Brandon) is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Utah, with his wife Hillary, daughter Lead and son Evan. Meanwhile, Josh, their youngest son, lives in So. Illinois with his wife Andrea and their son Elijah.

John’s political positions are not just words, these are his values. He is an executive board member of the Jefferson County Pregnancy Care Center, a member of the Hwy 30 Evangelical Ministerial Alliance, a member of the Jefferson Baptist Association Executive Board, a life member of the NRA an avid hunter and fisherman. John has been involved in local food pantries, mission groups and community outreach through a multitude of programs and events.
