Some employees say they have welts and bruises allegedly sustained from being hit with paintballs while on the job, KMOV-TV reports.
Last month Patch posted a story about Creepyworld and various jobs for which it was seeking applicants. The scary Fenton Halloween attraction was seeking to hire parking lot attendants, security staff, animation repair workers as well as monsters and zombies. The story also mentioned that Creepyworld was adding paint guns to the mix this year to allow customers to shoot the zombies. It turns out, apparently, that the zombies are getting the worst of it. Employees told KMOV-TV they had welts and bruises as a result of being hit by paintballs. The KMOV story pointed out that the zombie staff "were supposed to be the targets as customers armed with paintball guns moved through the park on a hay wagon shooting at them." The state's largest haunted attraction is right here in Fenton and they are looking for actors, parking lot attendants, maintenance workers and zombies willing to be shot with paint guns.

Summer is barely over and already the haunted house industry is preparing to scare the pants off thrill seekers in Fenton and the rest of the metro area.
Fenton is the home of Creepyworld, an indoor-outdoor haunted attraction run by St. Louis based Halloween Productions. The "screampark" has nine different and unique haunts and claims to be the biggest haunted attraction in Missouri. Halloween Productions is co-owned by Jim Kelly and Larry Kirchner, who also own The Darkness in Soulard and The Haunting of Lemp Brewery, which is inside (and underneath) the actual historic brewery in St. Louis. I guess i can see where there may be some concern for the employees. hopefully they are getting paid well. i play with airsoft guns and some of the refs we have are often put in some risky positions as well. my buddy got this gun http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-JM-M4-ZOMB.htm and accidentally started shooting at the ref and it hit him in the nose and was bruised up pretty well.   more ›
