Taylor and Newstead Bridges Over I-64 to Close After Morning Rush Monday

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on the St. Louis work zones for January 17-23.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the Taylor and Newstead bridges over Interstate 64 starting after morning rush period Monday January 21. On January 21-23, crews will close the inside lane on I-64 in both directions overnight to fill in the rumble strips. Work will start about 8 p.m. Monday on the eastbound lanes and then will move to the westbound lanes after eastbound is finished. Lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. the following morning. MoDOT has a full closure of both eastbound and westbound I-64 from Kingshighway Boulevard to Forest Park Parkway scheduled for the weekend of January 25 to remove the Taylor and Newstead bridges.    Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

MoDOT: Final Week of Work on Interstate 64 Double Deck Project Downtown

Missouri Department of Transportation reports on the St. Louis work zones for January 10-16.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has started the final week of work on the Interstate 64 double deck project downtown.   Weather permitting, significant lane closures on the eastbound I-64 double deck structure between Pine Street and the Poplar Street Bridge should end by Jan. 18. Work has begun on a new construction project slightly west of there. Currently, crews are completing utility relocation work for an updated interchange between I-64 and Tower Grove, in partnership with BJC Healthcare and Washington University Medical Center. MoDOT: Motorists Should Have Few Work Zone Delays Next Week

MoDOT reports on the St. Louis work zones for Jan. 3 - 9.

MoDOT is beginning work on the Interstate 64/ Tower Grove Interchange project later this month. This 18-month project, done in partnership with BJC Healthcare and Washington University Medical Center, is intended to improve traffic flow around Kingshighway and the east side of the medical campus. Crews spent time responding to wintry weather last week and are now preparing for 2013 work zones, such as construction of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge and the Tower Grove interchange project, on I-64 downtown. Thursday, MoDOT is hosting a 10 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the new $110 million I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge over the Missouri River. The bridge will be complete in 2014. Additional Northbound I-270 Lane Open, Work Zones Restricted for Holiday

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for Dec. 20-26.

The opening of an additional lane on northbound Interstate 270 and ramps on I-55 will mean smoother travel for some area commuters. Wednesday afternoon, MoDOT crews opened a new northbound lane on Interstate 270 between I-44 and Manchester Road (Route 100). The new lane of roadway will increase the number of vehicles that can travel through the area during morning rush hour and decrease congestion for commuters. In Jefferson County, MoDOT crews opened the eastbound Route M entrance ramp to northbound I-55 and the northbound I-55 exit ramp to Route M. This project consists of improvements to the I-55 at Route M interchange, which will greatly enhance its safety and traffic flow. MoDOT work zones will be restricted Monday at noon for the …

MoDOT Will Install Signs On I-44 at I-270 Next Week

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for December 6-12.

In the Fenton area, MoDOT will close two lanes on eastbound Interstate 44 from Bowles Avenue to I-270 on Sunday, weather permitting. Only the far left lane will remain open. Work will occur from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Crews will install seven large new guide signs on overhead steel trusses. During this work, the South Highway Drive entrance ramp to eastbound I-44 will be closed. Motorists will detour to Larkin Williams Road/Rudder Road. On Tuesday, two lanes will be closed on westbound I-44 near Lindbergh Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to shift sign locations.                     Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

Lanes to be Closed Each Direction on I-70 Downtown on Thursday

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on the St. Louis work zones for Nov. 29-Dec. 5.

Starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the express lanes and the left lane of Interstate 70 in each direction to place concrete on a portion of the new Missouri interchange, which connects the new Mississippi River Bridge to I-70 and Cass Avenue in downtown St. Louis. All lanes are scheduled to be reopened by 3 p.m. Thursday. In Jefferson County, MoDOT will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Route 30 Safety Improvements that are completed to this date. MoDOT just recently opened the intersections at Dillon, Caroline and Delores, which completes a majority of the crossover work on this corridor. Highway Construction Limited Over Weekend

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on the St. Louis regional work zones for November 22-28.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that all construction work on state routes stopped at noon on Wednesday to open up roadways for Thanksgiving travel. All permanent lane closures and barriers on some construction projects will remain closed this weekend. Crews may also complete emergency road repairs as needed during the holiday period as well. Work will resume Monday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

Eastbound I-64 Downtown to Fully Close This Weekend

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on its St. Louis work zones for November 15-21.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps on the eastbound double deck structure downtown from Jefferson Avenue to the Poplar Street Bridge, starting at 7 p.m. Friday. Since work is directly over downtown lanes of Interstate 55 and I-70, traffic on those interstates may be shifted as crews work overhead. All eastbound I-64 lanes and most ramps should reopen by 5:30 a.m. Monday. This should be the final major closure on the interstate as part of the project to remove and replace the driving surface. Drivers can still expect some lane closures on the double deck structure during off-peak traffic hours to smooth the pavement. Year-Long Closure of Westbound I-70 Blanchette Bridge Begins This Weekend

MoDOT Reports on the St. Louis Work Zones for November 1-7

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the westbound section of the Interstate 70 Blanchette Bridge over the Missouri River the weekend of November 2-4. The westbound bridge will remain closed until fall 2013.   The eastbound I-70 bridge will be used to carry three lanes of traffic in each direction. The exit ramps to Fifth Street in St. Charles will remain open. Motorists are advised to use Route 370 and Route 364 as alternate routes during the closure. Are you affected? MoDOT: Watch for Eastbound Lane Closures Downtown This Weekend

Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis work zones for October 4-10.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps on eastbound Interstate 64 downtown between Jefferson and the Poplar Street Bridge on the double deck structure, starting at 8 p.m. Friday, October 5. One eastbound lane, and the 14th Street and 6th Street ramps, will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, October 8. A second lane and the 11th Street ramp will reopen by 2 p.m. Monday, October 8. Two eastbound lanes on the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, October 5, until noon Sunday, October 7. The ramp from eastbound I-70 to the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed Saturday, October 6, from 12 a.m. until 2 p.m. as crews work overhead on eastbound I-64.
