39 St. Louis-area officers will be honored during a ceremony on Wednesday.
Several police officers from around St. Louis County will be recognized Wednesday by the Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri (MHA-EM) during their 27th annual Police Recognition Luncheon, according to a release from Mental Health America. MHA-EM will honor 39 officers for the John J. McAtee Award, in recognition of their showing compassion, concern and understanding when working with individuals in psychiatric crisis, according to the release. A Valley Park-area man faces two drug charges after St. Louis County Police said he sold marijuana to an undercover officer two times. Jonathan Everett Williams, 20, of the 1400 block of Carriage Bridge Trail, was charged Thursday with two counts of distributing a controlled substance. St. Louis County Police said Williams sold 28 grams of marijuana to an undercover officer at Williams’ home March 28. Police said he then sold 112 grams of marijuana to the officer on Wednesday. The Fenton store was evacuated Saturday night, our partners at FOX2 report.
Two St. Louis-area Walmart stores, including the one in Gravois Bluffs, were evacuated Saturday night due to potential bomb threats, our partners at FOX2 are reporting. Customers filed out calmly, many leaving their full shopping carts behind, according to the report. St. Louis County Police told FOX2 that customers were allowed back in the stores after the chain discovered the threats were a hoax. Cody Arnold struggled with the officer following a stop after a license plate check indicated no record on file.
St. Louis County Police said a 19-year-old DeSoto man struggled with an officer and tried to grab the officer’s firearm Feb. 18 in Fenton. Cody Arnold, 19, of the 2100 block of Big River Trails in DeSoto, was charged Tuesday with assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. St. Louis County Police said an officer ran a license plate check on a vehicle and received a “No record on file” response. The officer pulled over the vehicle driven by Arnold in the 1400 block of Ivy View Court in Fenton, according to a police report. Arnold and two others got out of the car, and the officer was conducting a pat down search when Arnold started running away, police said. A Valley Park man is accused of stabbing his mother’s boyfriend in the arm Feb. 11 in Riverview in an argument over food. Maurice Conner, 24, of the first block of Cheryl Lane in Valley Park, was charged Fb. 12 with second-degree assault. St. Louis County Police said Conner was at his mother’s boyfriend’s home, and two young children in the residence had not been fed. When Conner went into the kitchen to get them some food, the boyfriend objected and the two argued, police said. Witnesses told police that during the argument Conner picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the arm. A Fenton man faces two felony DWI charges after being pulled over by police twice within five months. Bernardo Perez, 47, of the 1400 block of Hawkins Corner Drive in Fenton, was charged Jan. 24 with driving while intoxicated, drug intoxication, as an aggravated offender in a May 16 incident. He also was charged Jan. 28 with DWI as an aggravated offender for an incident on Oct. 12. When he was pulled over May 16, St. Louis County Police said he was driving under the influence of cannabinoids, or synthetic marijuana, and benzodiapines, a sedative. The Jefferson County man was charged with stealing more than $4,000 in Pokemon and YugiOh cards from The Gathering Ground in Valley Park, according to St. Louis County Police.
An employee at The Gathering Ground, a gaming store in Valley Park, stole more than $4,000 in Pokemon and YugiOh collector’s cards and merchandise from the establishment, St. Louis County Police said. Calvin Reynolds, 22, of the first block of San Marcos Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and felony theft. St. Louis County Police said Reynolds returned to the store after hours and took boxes and tins of Pokemon and Yugi-Oh valued at $4,000 from a hole in the business’ exterior wall at 10 North Elam Ave. in Valley Park. A High Ridge man burglarized a Wildwood home in early December and also pawned gold Edward Jones jewelry, St. Louis County Police said. James S. Bright, 25, of the 6200 block of Sunshine Drive in High Ridge, was charged Saturday with second-degree burglary, felony theft and receiving stolen property. St. Louis County Police said Bright broke into a home in the 500 block of Nantucket Pointe Drive in Wildwood between 7:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Dec. 7. According to the police report, he stole an autographed sports jersey, 46-inch flat-screen TV and an iMac computer monitor.
