High Ridge Rotary Scholarship Winners Announced

The Northwest High School seniors were presented with their awards at a recent rotary event.

Six Northwest High School seniors have been awarded scholarships from the High Ridge Rotary Club. They were presented with the awards at a recent rotary event. Michelle Brinkman won a $750 scholarship. She will attend St. Louis University. She is seeking to become a pediatrician. The five other winners received $500 scholarships. They include:

Depending on the type of degree you want to pursue, most local four-year colleges have online classes or a School of Professional Studies (for those non-traditional students). I second Ms. Abellard's statement about community college. It's a great way to get the basic courses completed at a great price. Fenton Area Chamber Awards Student Scholarships

Sixteen college-bound students from local schools receive a boost from the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce

The Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded 263 high school graduates with more than $212,000 in scholarships money since 1987. This year there were 40 scholarship applications from Fenton area high school seniors.  Sixteen of the students were presented with a Fenton Area Chamber scholarship at an awards luncheon on Wednesday "It was a very difficult task to choose who our recipients would be," said Sean King, who made the scholarship presentations. "We are here to recognize the 16 seniors who stood out in some way." King announced each student's achievements as they were called to accept their Chamber scholarship. Rockwood BBQ To Honor Fallen Heroes

Proceeds to be used to establish scholarship funds.

Rockwood will honor four former students who died during military service at the second annual Peter Navarro BBQ.  The event will be at Lafayette High School, 17050 Clayton Road, Wildwood.  Since 2006, a scholarship has been awarded to a senior Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) student at Lafayette in honor of Army SPC Navarro, a 2003 graduate.  Organized by Lafayette’s AFJROTC and the Chesterfield American Legion Post 556, proceeds from this event will help establish scholarship funds in the memory of three other Rockwood graduates:       Army SPC Paul Varner, Lafayette High School ‘03      Marines CLP Riley Baker, Eureka High School ‘02      Army SSGT Edward Forrest Jr., Rockwood Summit High School ‘03 According …

Fenton Area Chamber Awards College Scholarships

Fourteen high school seniors were honored at a scholarship luncheon

The Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce presented 14 local high school seniors with scholarships at its July Scholarship Luncheon at Andre’s West Banquet Center. Scholarship recipients included Nathaniel Aden, Michael Baer, Dustin Capehart, Kellie Chapman, Maria Delgado, Caitlin Giustiniano, Rachel Greer, Kevin Heyn, Kelly Hill, Michael Maragni, Savannah Mulenex, Jordan Thomas, Bree-Ann Topp and Taylor Wakeland. Kevin Heyn was awarded the Ginny Goede Scholarship for his leadership and commitment to serving the community. Members of the Fenton Chamber, along with the high school seniors and their families, were in attendance to honor the outstanding academic achievement of the 14 scholars.
