Man Fights Officer, Tries to Grab His Handgun, Police Say

Cody Arnold struggled with the officer following a stop after a license plate check indicated no record on file.

St. Louis County Police said a 19-year-old DeSoto man struggled with an officer and tried to grab the officer’s firearm Feb. 18 in Fenton. Cody Arnold, 19, of the 2100 block of Big River Trails in DeSoto, was charged Tuesday with assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. St. Louis County Police said an officer ran a license plate check on a vehicle and received a “No record on file” response.  The officer pulled over the vehicle driven by Arnold in the 1400 block of Ivy View Court in Fenton, according to a police report. Arnold and two others got out of the car, and the officer was conducting a pat down search when Arnold started running away, police said. Man Indicted on Domestic Assault, Barricading Himself in Motel

Bryan Thomas is accused of slamming a motel room door on his girlfriend's arm, then blocking police out of his room by barring the doorway.

A 27-year-old man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury on second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest. St. Louis County prosecutors said Bryan Thomas slammed a door on his girlfriend’s arm, injuring her on Sept. 24. He then barricaded himself in a motel room at the Rodeway Inn and Suites, 1860 Bowles Ave. in Fenton. St. Louis County Police said Thomas taunted officers and making an obscene gesture and after blocking the doorway with the motel refrigerator. The St. Louis County Police Tactical Unit was brought in and arrested Thomas. Thomas was being held Monday in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $25,000. Police: Man Slams Door on Girlfriend, Barricades Himself Inside Motel Room

The St. Louis County Tactical Unit was called in to arrest the man.

A man faces criminal charges for slamming a door on his girlfriend’s arm and then barricading himself in a Fenton motel room to prevent police from arresting him. Bryan Thomas, 27, was charged Tuesday with second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest. St. Louis County Police said Thomas slammed a motel door on his girlfriend’s arm Monday, injuring her at the Rodeway Inn and Suites, 1860 Bowles Ave. in Fenton. When police arrived and told Thomas he was under arrest, he went back inside the motel room, slammed the door and barricaded it with the room’s refrigerator, according to a police report.
