N-Bomb Drug Raises 'Social Hosting' Issues in West County

Property owners of homes that host illegal drug use and underage drinking in some municipalities can be held accountable for the consequences, even if those adult owners are not present during the parties.

Allegations from a West County mother saying her daughter may have been slipped a dangerous new synthetic drug called N-Bomb at a New Year's Eve party in Wildwood are being actively investigated. Capt. Ken Williams, commander of St. Louis County Police's Wildwood Precinct, confirmed with Patch the address of the associated party is within Wildwood's city limits. Williams said the Chesterfield mother, Carley Alves, contacted Wildwood police officers about her concerns about a day or two after the alleged incident. "We are cautious, because there is no evidence or direct proof this drug was in use or consumed by the woman's daughter. Police Issue Warning About New Synthetic Drug, N-Bomb

St. Louis County police have issued a warning about the deadly hallucinogen, which may have been slipped into a West County teen's drink while she was at a party.

St. Louis County police are warning parents and teens about a new sythentic drug called "N-Bomb" that is already responsible for deaths in several states.  The name stems from its chemical composition, 2C-I-NBOMe or 25INBOMe, and police say it is a powerful hallucinogen that is a more potent and deadly derivative of mescaline. It has been reportedly responsible for fatal overdoses in California, North Dakota, Minnesota, Louisiana and Virginia.  Police said the substance has been purchased undercover in the metro area by drug detectives. St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch said it's important for the public to be aware about the dangerous nature of this relatively new drug.
