Update: Missing Woman Has Been Located, Arrested

The woman's belongings were found near the Stratford Inn, where her 9-year-old son was located.

3:02 p.m. Update: Denise R. Cooke was arrested by the St. Louis County Police Department Monday upon her return to the Stratford Inn, suspected of child endangerment. Cooke indicated to police she had gone out for a few drinks and did not have intentions of leaving her child alone for as long of a time period as she did. The time period has not been disclosed by investigators. The St. Louis County Police Department had made contact with the grandfather of Cooke’s 9-year old boy, but was unable to give over custody to him at the time. The boy will be taken into protective custody until further notice, police said. 1:15 p.m. Update: St. Louis County police announced that Denise Cooke has been located. She's either a whack job and just took off or she has met foul play. Even though the article states she an "Indiana woman", her family apparently is here. There's got to be a back story on this one. It's not a case of random abduction.   more ›

Missing Fenton Woman Found after Five-Hour Search

Woman left walked from her home and was discovered later by Jefferson County deputies using a K-9 Unit search dog.

A Fenton woman apparently walked away from her home on Samarra Estates Drive, in Fenton, and, after a five-hour search of the surrounding area, was located in a creek bed. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department reported that the woman, identified by Fox2 News as Margaret Munsell, 71, has walked out of her home Monday night, setting off the home's alarm system at about 12:30 a.m. When her husband investigated the home alarm and could not find his wife, he called 911, according to the sheriff's department report. He told deputies his wife suffered from dementia and was bi-polar. Sheriff's deputies arrived and began a canvass of the area to search for the woman.
