And the Griffs played without the services of their top performer Brad Woodson who suffered a knock to the head Monday against Clayton and watched in street clothes. "I was nervous not having Brad," said Griffs coach Sean Walsh." Senior 6-foot-9 Sean O'Brien picked up the slack, leading all scorers with 17 points. He has offers from Harding College, Searcy, Arkansas and CBC of Memphis and looks from UMSL, Quincy, Central Missouri and others. "I thought we played well. I'm glad we won," said O'Brien. The score was supposed to be much more lopsided. They weren’t supposed to have the ball with two minutes left and a chance to win the game. But that’s where the Lindbergh Flyers found themselves Friday night in their district opener at Parkway South thanks to an impressive defensive effort that kept the underdogs in the game from start to finish. So when his offense couldn’t put together a game-winning drive and they suffered a heart-breaking 10-7 loss to end their season, Lindbergh coach Tom Beauchamp couldn’t find a negative thing to say. “The kids came to play, they played their hearts out and gave it everything they had,” Beauchamp said. “I have no complaints or gripes. Our kids played with everything they had. “They have a lot of …
