Man Sets Off Smoke Alarm at Hotel, Is Busted for Meth at Motel One Day Later

Police found methamphetamine on a room occupant at the South County Holiday Inn after a smoke alarm was triggered in the room, then find the same renter at a meth lab at the Super 8 in Fenton.

A South County man who set off smoke alarms in a hotel Sunday while attempting to make methamphetamine was arrested the next day for trying to make meth in Fenton motel room, police said. Stephen L. Langendorf, 19, of the 5700 block of Wieland Drive in South County, was charged Tuesday with two counts of possessing a meth precursor with intent to manfacture methamphetamine. St. Louis County Police said a smoke alarm was triggered Sunday at the Holiday Inn at 4234 Butler Hill Drive in Langendorf’s room. Police found meth ingredients and emptied pseudoephedrine blister packs in the room and found meth on one of the room’s occupants.
