Old Towne Fenton Finds Champions at the Market

Christine Manes of The Green House Market wants to see Old Towne Fenton flourish again.

Christine Manes and her family run The Green House Market, a business that’s currently in a state of flux. For two years the shop has sold a variety of organic, natural or locally produced goods at the corner of Mound Street and Gravois Road in Olde Towne Fenton. But this winter Manes felt the need to shutter her brick and mortar shop and turned to the internet to sell her goods. “There’s been a steady flow of business,” Manes said. Her regular customers still call in orders for delivery and she said they’re doing well with the sale of custom gift baskets. I feel like you do, Fenton is one large parking lot after another, no benchs to sit in as you walk, in fact not even a side walk. A Green Thought for the Day from Yogi Berra

Quotable quotes often make it to Christine Manes' Green House Market blackboard.

Christine Manes, the proprietor of Green House Market, has a penchant for pithy quotes that she shares with the public. Her latest is the Yogi Berra quip, "A dime ain't worth a plugged nickel anymore." Despite pondering the meaning a "plugged" nickel, the Yogi line certainly says something about the state of the economy these days. Christine gathers her quotable material from a variety of sources, including Mark Twain, Mother Teresa, Walt Disney and others. Here are two more: The last is an apt comment for the Green House Market as it tries to lengthen everyone's life expectancy by providing a variety of homegrown green (and other colored) vegetables. In the interest of gathering other memorable quotes, hit the comment button at the bottom…

Green House Market Makes Fenton a Little Greener

Living healthier and greener at your own pace is the mantra of The Green House Market where all natural and organic products are sold.

Fenton became a little greener over the last year thanks to the efforts of Christine Manes who opened The Green House Market in Olde Towne Fenton. Christine along with her daughter, Amanda, and mother, Louise DeVault, created  a unique market mix offering natural and organic products that enhance a healthier lifestyle. “Being healthy your way is our motto,” said Christine as she explained her philosophy on living healthy and using organic products. "Choosing to use natural products is a way to make the transition to living green.  We encourage our customers to choose the products and the pace that’s right for them becasue you don’t have to go green all at once if you don’t want to. Ease into the lifestyle a little at a time and you’ll soon…
