Young students prepare computer-driven robots for FIRST LEGO League Championship
Sometime in the near future patients may be medically treated by one of the participants in Sunday's FIRST LEGO League Eastern Missouri Championship Challenge. Teams from the South County and Wildwood areas competed Dec. 5 in the computer-controlled robot Challenges at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. Students aged nine through 14 from schools and other groups across St. Louis County teamed up to build LEGO-based robots that were programmed to automatically carry out medically-themed Challenges such as dispensing medicine, repairing broken bones and performing cardiac procedures.
