Preview: Struggling Northwest Faces Tough Test at Parkway Central

Northwest will be hard-pressed to notch its first win of this season when the Lions play at Parkway Central (2-0) at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Parkway Central Colts (2-0) will likely give the Northwest Lions all they can handle this Friday, and maybe much more, as the teams meet at 7 p.m. at Parkway Central in a nonconference matchup. In its first two games, Parkway Central’s defense has surrendered less than 200 yards on the ground, while Northwest has allowed 496. The Colts’ offense has racked up 673 yards while Northwest has gained just 272. Parkway Central has scored 73 points as Northwest is stuck on seven. However, the comparison is hardly apples to apples. The Lions drew two of the area’s toughest teams to start the season in Mehlville and St. Louis University High. Parkway Central, on the other hand, played a Ladue squad that has yet to win in 2011, and a Seckman …
