Parents ruin sports..

Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I think that Pinkel has earned the benefit of revamping the team. I think that he needs to replaceRead More Yost as Offensive Coordinator and put someone in who can run a combination of a traditional offense with some aspects of the spread. The offense needs to spend more time on the field. There were too many times where the defense was tired in the 4th quarter due to their being on the field too long.

I agree with Ken. Maybe Yost has too much on his plate. Maybe Gary could take over or do more playRead More calling. He was the OC at Washington for many years so I am sure that he still knows how to attack defenses. I only assume he is not doing this already sense the spread was not his scheme. Maybe he is already involved more but if he is then I agree switch it up a bit. I noticed we did some traditional schemes this year and I thought they worked. I would need to go back and see. Is it possible to get a copy of all the games films?

I also understand that this is hard to do with a botched up o line but if your line is botched upRead More you need more blocking anyway don't you? I am no football coach by any means but feel from going to the games that our offense takes a long time to develop and that seems odd for a spread and o line just wasn't suited for that. Also it seemed like the defenses playing against our offense, 70% of the time knew what we were calling. Is this due to having practice wide open, or did we call predictable plays. It would be interesting to know how many different plays we ran. Just curious take what I say with a grain of salt. I am no coach nor have I played one on TV.
