Racanelli's originally opened in the Bronx in New York and expanded to the St. Louis metro area with its University City location in 1994. Pizzas are baked in brick ovens and everything is made from scratch, including the house marinara sauce and 100 percent whole milk mozzarella. Besides New York-style pizza, Racacanelli's features strombolis, calzones and sandwiches made fresh to order. The Italian beef is a popular sandwich choice. Beer and wine is also available, as well as fresh baked cookies.
