That Old & New Thing Called 'Honor Thy Neighbor'

Support local companies. Support the earth. Support your loved ones' health. Support your own health. If everybody does a little, a lot will be done!

Well, here goes!

We have a new or should I say, a one-FULL-year-old natural goods shop called The Green House Market in Olde Towne Fenton, MO (give credit were credit is due in this economy, right?) . WE consists of: Myself, Christine, my daughter, Amanda and the invaluable help of my mother, Louise (as well as a little aid from good family and friends, of course). This is our first blog post and we’ll try our best to say something interesting.  So again: Here Goes!

Our reason for going into this business was a little self-serving. We wanted to be of healthy mind and body; to actually live the life of the GREEN movement without going overboard. You see, our belief is that everyone can be healthy on their own terms while helping each other and the earth be a little healthier too.

In the year since the market has opened we have met so many quality people. Our customers and business partners are people that we likely would not have known if it weren’t for this shop. We work with so many quality local companies and artisans that have such talent in what they do that it makes us wonder what does everyone in the area do to support their community?

Think about this and be sure to back local - your friends, neighbors and small businesses ... YOUR community. Supporting them supports YOU. There is a statistic that says for every $100 spent in a community $68 goes back into that very community. Pretty cool, huh?

So this little blog post is the first of many conversations about local folks that will be “featured” along with simple conversations on healthy living for us and for our Earth. We hope you will join in with your knowledge and ideas too.

Blog with you soon.

Thanks for taking a minute!
