Strut Your Mutt To Help Animal Rescue Groups

Vendors, contests and pet demonstrations are part of the Strut Your Mutt event.

Please join some local animal rescue groups in Queeny Park Sept. 22 when it's time to Strut Your Mutt. Best Friends Animal Society is bringing one of its most popular fundraisers to St. Louis.

Every day, more than 9,000 pets are unnecessarily killed in America's shelters simply because they do not have a home. Each one an individual. Each one a life worth saving. Best Friends and local St. Louis rescue groups are joining forces to make that number zero. You can visit www.strutyourmutt.org to donate to your favorite animal rescue, register to join a Dog Pack and walk with a group, or if your favorite rescue group isn't participating, you can start your own dog pack and raise funds for that group. There are several ways you can help homeless animals in your area. you can make a difference.

The Strut Your Mutt event starts at 9 a.m. with a mile-long group walk. There also will be vendors and booths set up with all sorts of pet-related items. Buy your dog something nice! There will be demonstrations, probably some flyball or agility. There also will be some contests and plenty of photo opportunities.
