Comprehensive stroke screening and lecture Saturday, Oct. 26

Protect yourself from a brain attack! Stoke – or “brain attack” – is the number one cause of serious, long-term disability and the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. What can you do to protect yourself? Start by attending an informational stroke presentation and screening at SSM St. Clare Health Center.

Laurence Kinsella, MD, neurologist and stroke medical director at St. Clare Health Center, will help uncover your risks for stroke and explain how strokes occur and are treated. Plus, find out how changes to your diet and lifestyle can lower your risk for stroke.

The screening includes: blood pressure, carotid ultrasound (non-invasive test of blood flow in the neck arteries), cholesterol (total, HDL, LDL and triglycerides – fasting requested), blood sugar (glucose), and consultation with a nurse specialist. The screening fee is $20.
