High school football coaches left the field last weekend not quite sure who they'd be playing this week in the new state football playoff system. The new "district system" uses a technique that, thanks to a point differential, makes every score count. Here's how it all will shake out:

- Lindbergh vs Parkway South, 7 p.m. at Lindbergh
Rockwood Summit has a first round bye, and will play the winner of Fox-Seckman game on October 31 at 7 p.m. on their home turf. School officials are asking the Student Council to "scare up" excitement around the Halloween game and encourage students to cheer on their Falcons on this spooky night.
If Summit does a monster mash on their Fox District foes, they are predicting an away game match up against Jackson on November 5.
