Lindbergh Girls Stand Out at State Track Meet in Jefferson City

Several local athletes took part in last weekend's state track and field meet in Jefferson City.

Several area athletes and teams participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Track and Field Championships at Lincoln University in Jefferson City last Friday and Saturday. Here are some area highlights:

The Lindbergh girls finished first in the 4x800-meter relay as sophomore Sarah McCaughey, junior Marina White, senior Grace Watt and senior Colleen Riley ran a time of 9:14.19.

Lindbergh senior Katie Kennedy placed seventh in the pole vault with a jump of 10-3.

Lindbergh junior Jill Harmon placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 36-10.25.

Lindbergh freshman Anne Massey finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.65.

Lindbergh senior Colleen Riley finished fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:58.53. Riley also finished fourth in the 800 in 2:13.93.

The Lindbergh girls relay team placed third in the 4x400 with a time of 3:55.40. The team included junior Marina White, sophomore Sarah McCaughey, senior Grace Watt and Riley.

The Lindbergh boys placed second in the 4x200 in 1:28.47. The team included junior Ryan Woodland, senior Marc Lewis, senior Adam Schremp, senior Tim Hamm-Bey, sophomore Justin Simmons and sophomore Angelo Lombardo.

The Lindbergh boys placed fourth in the 4x100 in 43.09. The team included Woodland, Schremp, senior Marc Lewis and Hamm-Bey.

Hamm-Bey placed fifth in the 200 in 22.41.

Rockwood Summit won the 4x800 with a time of 7:50.61. The team included junior Aaden Aaden, senior Devonte Harris, senior Curt Wood, senior Daniel Mazar, sophomore Joshua Locandro and freshman Daniel Heidrick.

Mazar won the 800 in 1:52.26. He finished second in the 1600 with a time of 4:12.51. Wood placed third in the 800 at 1:53.94.

Rockwood Summit sophomore Alyssa Jones placed eighth in the 3,200 at 10:53.64.

Northwest senior Jennifer Sturgeon was fifth in the pole vault as she cleared 10-6.

Northwest senior Taylor Hosna finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 16-11.75.
