Key to Awesomeness: Operating on only about four hours sleep following a semi-final state volleyball game Nov. 5 and a drive to Jefferson City, Krista ran a hilly Oak Hill Golf Course in 18:57.17, to capture 10th place among 170 runners, helping St. Joseph's Academy to a third-place trophy. Those were medals one and two for the day.
With the 5K, 3.1-mile race complete, Krista and her mother, Terri, and headed back to Kansas City for the state title volleyball game with Lee's Summit at 5:30 p.m. Krista is a setter on the team. St. Joe's won that title and ended with a 30-7 record. The long weekend ended with an arduous sprint around the state earning Krista a third medal - all in less than 24 hours.
