14 Rockwood Teachers Earn Top Honors

Fourteen Rockwood teachers have earned the profession’s top honor in teaching excellence, National Board Certification. The educators are:

• Alison Harris – Lafayette High School
• Keith Henige – Crestview Middle School
• Cathy Kraemer – Rockwood Valley Middle School
• Sarah Majino – Westridge Elementary School
• Paul Stanley – Eureka High School
• Patricia Stiehr – Crestview Middle School
• Matt Frederickson – Annex
• Ellen Garner – Eureka High School
• Eva Johnston – Marquette High School
• Stephanie McDaniel – Marquette High School
• Tracy Wood – Westridge Elementary School

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) improves teaching and student learning. National Board Certified Teachers are highly accomplished educators who meet high and rigorous standards. Like board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review.

The NBPTS offers 25 certificates that cover a variety of subject areas and student developmental levels. A National Board Teaching Certificate is valid for ten years with the opportunity to renew certification. For more information, visit the NBCT Professional Development page.
