Rockwood Community Education Programs Offered

Classes include music, driver's ed, sports, the outdoors, Scouting, private tutoring.

The new school year also means a new series of programs being offered by Rockwood Community Education. Registration currently is underway, reports Kali Rogers, a marketing specialist for the community education program. Rogers says in a news release there are programs in basketball indoor soccer/futbal where children will have an opportunity to receive some exercise during some fun activities. Rogers also says there is an adult co-ed recreational volleyball league being offered.

The programs being offered by Rockwood Community Education include:

  • e-hour, an after school enrichment  program.
  • adult swim lessons are available through the SwimAmerica program
  • performing arts opportunities that include the Rockwood Show Choir, the Rockwood Intermediate Honor Orchestra and the new Rockwood Magic Troupe
  • an evening driver's education program that includes classroom instruction, in-car observation time and behind-the-wheel drive time.
  • WILD Scout Adventures at the Babler Outdoor recreation Center where Scouts can earn a variety of Boy Scout merit badges.
  • TutorConnection where students can connect with certified teachers and receive private tutoring lessons.

The Rockwood community education programs are available to all residents of the Rockwood School District (with some exceptions). For more information check out the Fall 2011 catalog and visit the program's website to register.
