Punters, Passers Kickers Invited to Northwest High School for annual NFL competition

Northwest High School is a regional qualifying site for the annual Punt, Pass and Kick contest.

Northwest High School will be the regional site for qualifying in the NFL's Punt, Pass & Kick competition. Boys and girls (age 6 to 15) in the and surrounding school districts are invited to compete in the free Pass Punt and Kick competition, to be at 8 a.m. Aug. 25, on the Northwest High School football field.

Girls and boys in five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15) compete against each other in distance and accuracy in punting, passing, and place kicking.

Last year, a third grader from of the Punt, Pass and Kick competition held in Baltimore during the AFC Championship playoff game weekend.

According to its website, Punt, Pass and Kick is the oldest grassroots initiative of  the NFL. The program allows boys and girls to experience the fun of learning football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive non-contact environment. According to the PPK website: "PPK is about kids, the parents who support their kids to come out and play and about the volunteers who give their time to organize events."
