The Northwest Lions Football Booster Club has decided helping tornado-stricken families in Joplin, MO is just as important as X's and O's for a few days this month.

Football players from Northwest High School will be part of a booster club effort to collect household items and supplies for the people who lost their homes in last month's massive tornado.

"We are really pumped about it," said Denise Oehler, of Byrnes Mill, one of the club's coordinators of the Joplin Relief Drive.

The big rig will be parked at the grocery store, 1023 Crossroads Place in High Ridge, Thursday and Friday as the booster club hopes the Fenton, High Ridge and surrounding communities will support their efforts to fill it.Dodge Moving is donating the trailer and the driver for the relief effort.
