Northwest Elementary Students, Parents: Here is Your Back To School Assignment

Northwest school District sets back-to-school meetings for elementary school students and families.

The announced back-to-school information this week for elementary school students and parents.

Northwest elementary schools are comprised of Kindergarten through fifth grades. The school day begins at 8:35 a.m. and concludes at 3:27 p.m. Registration is accepted at the school principal’s office daily. Contact the individual office for hours.

All six elementary schools will host a Curriculum and Meet the Teacher Night on August 14, 2012. Times are available on each building’s website or by calling the office. The event is a time to drop off supplies and complete necessary paperwork.

Both breakfast and lunch are available for purchase on a daily basis. The 2012-2013 breakfast price is $1.45 and lunch is $2.30. This pricing structure is in compliance with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 that went into effect in the distrct on July 1, 2011. Applications for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program are available on Northwest's website and will be distributed at the beginning of school. Enrollment has started for Lion Care, a fee-based before and after school program. Lion Care is held at all six Northwest School District elementary schools for grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. Normal hours are Monday through Friday from 6:15 a.m. until the start of school and from school dismissal until 6:15 p.m. (Maple Grove Elementary accepts children beginning at 6:00 a.m.) For additional program information, contact Caroline Meyers at (636) 671-3470 x-117.

Bus routes are established based on current enrollment. To check bus times and routes, visit the Versatrans routing program. (Both the username and password are “parent”.) Check back before school begins, as some routes may change as new students are added. For questions about transportation, contact the First Student bus office at 636-671-0033.
