New Administrators Hired for Northwest Schools

A welcome reception will be held prior to the school board meeting Thursday.

The Northwest School District board of education will welcome three new administrators at its board meeting Thursday.

Tracy Edwards has been added as the new executive director of elementary education. Edwards comes from the Rockwood School District where she was responsible for assessments, gifted programs, remedial reading and Title I programs, in addition to overall K-5 programming.

Terry Russell joins the district as the executive director of administrative services. Russell will oversee the departments of facilities, food service, transportation, and information technology. He previously worked for the Macon (MO) school district.

Jeff Taggart is the new Northwest activities director, responsible for coordination of all athletics and activities in grades 6-12. He joins Northwest from California (MO) School District.

The board of education will host a welcome reception Thursday to introduce new administrators. It is scheduled at 5:45 p.m. to coincide with the school board meeting later that evening.
