Local Teachers Honored for Dedication, Commitment

100 teachers from the metro area received the Emerson Teaching Award

100 educators from the St. Louis Metro area will be honored at an award presentation ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Sunday as they receive an Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award Award.

The teachers were selected by their peers or administrators to receive the Emerson Award, based on their dedication to education. The program is sponsored by Emerson, a diversified global manufacturer headquartered in St. Louis. Each teacher honoree will receive an engraved Tiffany crystal apple.

  • Eric D. Cochran (high school social studies teacher)  Lindbergh High School.
  • Nancy Bonn-Winkler, (counselor) Center for Creative Learning, Rockwood School District.
  • Elizabeth Boyce, (8th Grade science teacher) Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District.
  • Kimberly A. Hirtz, (2nd Grade teacher) Brennan Woods Elementary School, Northwest School District.
