Lindbergh Ices Chaminade in Top Hat Classic Hockey Tournament

Lindbergh's varsity hockey team advances to championship game today in the 2012 Top Hat Classic Fall Tournament.

Lindbergh and Chaminade kept the fans on their feet at Tuesday night's semi-final game in the Webster Groves Top Hat Classic fall tournament. The Flyers won with a score of 3 to 2.

Lindbergh will face CBC for the championship at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Webster Groves Ice Arena.

Patch caught up with Flyer's Head Coach Greg Anderson to see how he felt about the Flyers win.

"There’s numerous people that this one goes to. It starts with our goal tender Luke Opilka. We relied on all of our “D,” from Tyler Opilka--Luke's brother--to Kyle Meeh to Brett Czaicki. But I stress teamwork. So, there’s numerous guys who all made it come off. We run three lines," Anderson said.

Anderson said Chaminade was a good team.

“I expected that, I didn’t know how we’d stand up to them. We’re fairly young. Going into it, I knew it was going to be a good game. They’re a quality program—we knew it would be a tough game. It’s early in the season and I hope we can grow from this and have a snowball effect."
