Lindbergh Hires New Elementary School Leaders

Lindbergh board welcomes new administrators to lead Long and Kennerly Elementary schools.

Jana Reiter and Todd Morgan say they are looking forward to the challenge of taking the helm at two of Lindbergh's elementary schools.

The Lindbergh school board voted unanimously to hire the duo during a board meeting Tuesday night at the Lindbergh Early Childhood Education Center. Reiter is the new principal of and Morgan will hold the post at .

Board President Vic Lenz welcomed the two on behalf of the board as the newest members of the "Lindbergh family" and predicted their success with the district for many years to come.

Superintendent Jim Simpson echoed Lenz and other board members' optimism.

“These two very talented leaders are great matches for their buildings, and we know they will both continue the strong tradition of educational excellence that these two top 10 Missouri schools are known for,” Superintendent Jim Simpson said.

Reiter will be stepping into the shoes of Long principal Brian McKenney. She comes to the district from her current position as assistant principal of Parkway Central Middle School in the Parkway School District. She's worn many hats since entering the education field in 2008, including teacher, administrator, professional development leader and isntructional coach for other educators.

“I am ecstatic about joining the Lindbergh family, which has no qualms about putting student achievement first,” Reiter said. “Lindbergh has a reputation of excellence in education, and I cannot wait to be part of that momentum as we continue the success Lindbergh has experienced.”

Morgan will assume the post at Kennerly currently held by Suzanne Christopher. who has been employed as an administrator in the Lindbergh School District for the past six years, and recently helped transition Truman Elementary into Truman Middle School as the school's assistant principal.

“I am honored and excited to have to this opportunity to be Kennerly's new principal,” Morgan said. “I look forward to meeting the students, parents and residents of the Kennerly community, and continuing to encourage the Lindbergh tradition of academic excellence with a collaborative spirit at our school.”

Before coming to Lindbergh, Morgan taught special education for 12 years.
Reiter earned her bachelor of arts in history at Truman State University, her master of arts in education at Lindenwood University, and her doctorate of education from Saint Louis University.

Morgan earned his bachelor's and master of science degrees in education from Central Missouri State University, and his doctorate of education from St. Louis University.
