Lindbergh Announces Nine National Merit Finalists, 
18 International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidates

Lindbergh High School's senior class includes a record-breaking nine National Merit Finalists and 18 International Baccalaureate diploma candidates.

National Merit Finalists

Nine seniors have been named finalists in the 2012 competition for National Merit Scholarships. They are Brian Roth, William Iverson, Kyle Burkhart, Mariano Marin, Quin Rich, Kendall Helbert, Francesca Vacca, Kelly Weiss and Jacob Luciani.

Approximately 1.5 million students enter the National Merit Program each year by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Lindbergh’s nine finalists join the approximately 15,000  nationwide who advanced to finalist standing in this month.

IB Diploma Candidates

In addition, 18 Lindbergh seniors are completing work to become International Baccalaureate Diploma recipients upon their graduation in May. Students in the IB program must successfully complete six exams, a course in Theory of Knowledge, a 4,000-word extended essay, and a self-designed program of creativity, action and service.
