USA Racquetball Tourney Gets Underway Later This Month

Cor Jesu Academy girls and St. Louis University High School boys both will be going for their third national title in a row. Lindbergh High School in the mix of local teams.

Cor Jesu Academy in Affton will be fighting for a three-peat on the racquetball courts at Vetta Sports Concord and the Missouri Athletic Club West as the team seeks a third straight national title in the sport during the 2013 USA Racquetball High School National Championships on Feb. 27-March 3.

The national championships are hosted by the Missouri High School Racquetball Association and USA Racquetball and will include nearly 400 high school racquetball players from 50 high schools around the country. The Cor Jesu Chargers captured the girls' team national championship in 2011 and 2012.

On the boys side, the St. Louis University High School Junior Bilikens  racquetball team equalled Cor Jesu's feat in 2011 and 2012, and also will be seeking its third straight national championship.

The Missouri High School Racquetball Association League consists of almost 500 players from 20 different St. Louis high schools.  The top players from area teams, including Lindbergh High School, will represent Missouri in the USA Racquetball High School National Championships. 

Other participating local schools include: CBC, Chaminade, Cor Jesu, DeSmet, Kirkwood, Nerinx Hall, Notre Dame, Parkway North Central, Parkway West, SLUH, St. Joseph’s, Ursuline, Vianney, and Visitation.
