College Fair Set Sept. 24 at Northwest High School

Students and parents are invited to learn about individual colleges and various sources of financial assistance for college tuition.

Northwest High School has scheduled a College Fair from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 24 in the high school cafeteria. More than 60 colleges will be represented. A Financial Aid Workshop will be from 6:30-7:15 p.m. and 7:15-8 p.m. the same evening. All students are invited; however juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend.

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis is hosting the Financial Aid/A+ workshop which introduces students and parents to the basics of paying for higher education and helps identify people, organizations, and sources of information that can help them as they prepare to address the financial challenges.

The workshop reviews the various federal and state aid programs available to students, discusses eligibility requirements, explains the best ways to search for financial assistance, and shows families how federal programs and educational institutions calculate financial need.
