Lindbergh High School Blood Drive Set by Jake's Crew

A community blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday at Lindbergh High School.

Jake’s Crew at Lindbergh High School is hosting a community blood drive in honor of classmate Jake Franzel from 2-7 p.m., Wednesday. The blood drive will be in the multipurpose room (near the cafeteria and commons) at Lindbergh High School, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Jake, 18, has been battling osteosarcoma for three years now. Osteosarcoma is a cancerous bone tumor that most commonly occurs in children and young adults Teenagers are a frequently affected age group.

This blood drive is being held with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, an independent, not-for-profit organization. Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is a community-based blood center serving SSM Medical Centers throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area, including Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, where Jake receives his treatments.
