Adult Choir Formulating for First Time Across Rockwood School District

Auditions will be during the evenings of Aug. 20 and 27 for an all-new adult choir within the Rockwood School District area. St. Louis County residents are eligible for tryouts.

A first-ever adult choir is being gathered by Michele Rodgers, choir teacher at afayette High School in Wildwood. The choir is open to Rockwood residents, alumni or any adult from St. Louis County.

Auditions will be held on Aug. 20 and 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lafayette High School in Room 106. Auditions should be scheduled by Aug. 14; contact Kelly Regan via email to set a time.

After choir members are chosen, they will rehearse on Monday nights from Sept. 10 to Nov. 5 during 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in preparation for the upcoming concerts on Nov. 11. Rehearsals will be in the same room as the auditions.

The choir will present ‘A Tribute to America’ performance this fall, which will highlight American music as well as patriotic favorites. Tickets for this performance will open Oct. 1.

Two performances will occur on Nov. 11 in the Lafayette Theater; one at 2 p.m. and the other at 6 p.m.
