$31 Million in Lindbergh School Construction On Pace to Finish Next Month

Workers make good progress in effort to complete school renovations by start of school year.

Construction work in the Lindbergh School District continues at a furious pace as contractors and staff prepare for the start of the school year in mid-August.

Rain continued to plague efforts to upgrade facilities as part of the district’s plan to relieve overcrowding in district schools.

The construction is a part of the voter-approved Proposition R – the $31 million bond issue that passed in 2008.

When teachers welcome students back to school in August the district will open Concord as an elementary school and Truman Elementary will open as a middle school. Sperreng Middle School will then serve half as many students as prior to construction.

Once construction is complete, the district will have five elementary and two middle schools.
