One piece of legislation the governor did sign into law will keep our schools and hospitals safer in the years to come. The bill exempts these important institutions from having to provide information on security plans or other sensitive information when they are requested under Missouri’s Sunshine Law. The idea behind the bill is to keep this important security information out of the hands of terrorists or other criminals who would use it for harmful purposes. These protections were previously in place, but expired earlier this year. By putting them back into effect, we can better ensure the public’s safety and stop the actions of those who would use these details to harm the ones we love.
