Jefferson County Library Serves Us Anytime, Anywhere!

Now, you can visit the Jefferson County Library, check out your book and start reading without leaving your home or office.

I had the pleasure of visiting with the Jefferson County Library Board, Director and staff on Monday, May 15.  During the meeting, we were treated to a presentation of how the Jefferson County Library is extending their services to the people they serve.

Starting June 1, 2012, library patrons will be able to visit the library ONLINE, any time, and anywhere!  They will be able to check out books and have them electronically downloaded:

to eBook readers (like the Kindle or Nook),
to mobile devices (like the Blackberry or iPod), or
to computers (both Windows or MAC).

This new service requires users to install software on their electronic device (for details, visit www.molib2go.org).

One of the best features of this program is that after your checkout period ends (either 7 or 14 days), the downloaded book automatically drops off your device.  You know what that means?  No having to remember to return the book and no late fees!

Now, if you finish the book and want to return it early, there is a way to do that online, too.

Of course, the library also has three wonderful branches for “old school” visits to pick up printed books (Windsor, , and ).  There are no plans to remove any of the great services the library provides at its branches today.  This is simply a new, additional offering for patrons who have the need.

Happy reading, folks!
