It's October Baby, and You're Invited

A free showing of October Baby, is offered Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3PM at the Jefferson College Hillsboro campus by Jeff. Cty. Pregnancy Care Center, Immanuel Luth. Church and me. Every life is beautiful.

Dear friends and neighbors,

Today, I write to invite you to a free showing of the movie, October Baby, this Sunday at 3PM at the Little Theater in the Arts and Sciences Annex building at the Jefferson College Hillsboro campus.

You may be asking yourself several questions, like…

Why this movie?  October Baby is a movie rated PG-13 that explores the abortion issue from a perspective I have never seen before.  The message of the movie is that every life is beautiful (I happen to believe that, too).  Everyone I have spoken with who has watched the movie tells me how much they enjoyed it.

So you can imagine when Karen Ludwig of the Jefferson County Pregnancy Care Center told me that she had a license to publically show the movie as part of an October celebration, I was thrilled to help make it available to anyone who is interested.

Why now?  The license for public showings and the offer to share it by the Jefferson County Pregnancy Care Center was first offered to us in mid-September as part of an October celebration.  I discussed this with the pastor and members of my church, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Barnhart, to see if this was something they would support.  They did so enthusiastically.  We then decided to try to find a suitable venue where viewers could have comfy seats and enjoy a theater-like experience.  We landed on the Little Theater at Jefferson College.

After wrangling through all the details, requirements and scheduling, we arrived on October 28 for the event.  Many thanks go to Mary Molenda, Dorothy Maupin and Matt Holt for helping with the scheduling details.

Doors open at 2PM and the movie starts at 3PM, and the event is not expected to last longer than 5:30 PM.  Representatives from Jefferson County Pregnancy Care Centers and Immanuel Lutheran Church will be on hand to answer any questions you have after the show.

I sincerely hope you, your friends and neighbors can join us for this wonderful, free event.  Every life is beautiful.
