Why The Low Voter Turnout for Tuesday's Election?

According to the St. Louis County Board of Elections, voter turnout for the April 3 election was 13.8 percent, with a total of 90,233 ballots cast. In Jefferson County the turnout was even lower - 8.35 percent.

In the , incumbent Alderman Harold Bade defeated challenger Carol Brennan by a 88-70 total.  Jerry Sorge won the aldermanic race in Ward 2 with 81 votes. He was unopposed. In Fenton's Ward 3, Daniel Borgard received 72 votes. He also was unopposed in the race. Gary Fischer in Ward 4, another unopposed candidate, won election with 129 votes.
