MoDOT Sets 'Listening Session' in Fenton Thursday

Residents have a chance to talk to MoDOT officials about highways, bridges, rail lines, airways and highway at the meeting at UniGroup, 1 Premier Drive, Fenton.

What kind of transportation system do you want in Missouri? That’s the question the Missouri Department of Transportation is asking citizens to answer next Thursday during a meeting on the future of transportation in the state. The “Listening Session” meeting gives citizens who are interested in the future of transportation an opportunity to provide critical input on shaping Missouri’s long-term transportation plan, according to a MoDOT news release.

Attendees will hear about the current state of transportation and funding challenges. They will also have the opportunity to discuss needed projects, and simulate scenarios on how to prioritize work on highways, bridges, rail, airways, waterways and bike/pedestrian travel with current or future funding levels.

Thursday’s listening session will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at UniGroup Headquarters, 1 Premier Drive in Fenton. This is the final meeting held in St. Louis, but seven others are scheduled throughout the state during the next month. The general public and transportation stakeholders are invited to the session, but must register due to limited seating. Please RSVP at onthemove@modot.mo.gov or at http://www.missourionthemove.org/event/on-the-move-listening-session-st-louis-2/.
