Wednesday is Last Chance to Register to Vote In Missouri's August 7 Primary

Anyone who plans to participate in the upcoming Aug. 7 primary election must be officially registered by July 11.

The St. Louis County Election Board maintains 600-plus registration sites, which include most city halls, libraries and schools, in addition to Special School District facilities, community colleges, union halls and churches.

State election laws also provide for registration by mail at all motor vehicle registration offices and at all state offices that provide public assistance.

Registering to vote is simple:  

• Fill out the Missouri Voter Registration Application
• Go to any Department of Motor Vehicles office, or state agency providing a service to the public (Women, infants & children)
• Go to an office of the local election authority; Local Election Authority Contact Information

Voters should be sure to notify the Election Board of legal name changes and any change of addresses, reminds Judy Hon, who is committeewoman for the Chesterfield Township Republicans. Notification can be done in-person or at any of the registration sites.

To vote in St. Louis County, one must:

1. Be a U.S. citizen
2. Must be 17 1/2 years of age (18 years old by election day)
3. Be a St. Louis County resident.

A political party preference is only required when requesting a ballot for a primary election.
