              The Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) has re-elected Jim Curran as District 5 Director. Curran, of Fenton, who is executive vice president for the Electrical Connection, has held the position since 2004.

              MEDC is a statewide, nonprofit association of economic development professionals and community leaders that seek to enhance economic growth through new programs and collaboration. Curran represents municipalities in District 5 to gain tools, incentives and legislation from the state necessary for job retention, expansion and attraction. The district includes the city of St. Louis, St. Louis County and Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Montgomery, St. Charles and Warren counties.

              At the Electrical Connection, Curran cultivates professional relationships and new business opportunities with economic development stakeholders throughout eastern Missouri, including Metro St. Louis. The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association.

              Curran also serves on the board of directors of the Hawthorn Foundation and on the board of directors and executive committee of the Missouri Energy Initiative. He previously served as economic development director for the cities of O’Fallon, Mo. and , and as president of the Fenton Development Association.
