Jefferson County Names New Emergency Management Director

Warren Robinson was recently appointed Jefferson County's new Emergency Management Director, according to a news release provided by Jefferson County Executive Ken Waller.

“We're looking forward to working with Warren and feel that his addition to our public safety system will contribute to our goal of making Jefferson County a stronger community,” Waller said in the news release. “We believe he has the experience necessary to successfully guide our emergency management agency and that he will help make Jefferson County's government a more transparent and responsive organization for the public it serves.”

The county's previous Emergency Management Director, Ed Kemp, died in November--a little more than a month before his planned retirement.

Robinson served as an emergency management specialist with the Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management. His experience includes mitigation planning, exercise development and volunteer management, according to the release.

Robinson received a Master of Public Administration degree from Missouri State University and Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and Spanish from Murray State University. He is an active member of the Region C Incident Support Team and the Southwest Missouri Incident Support Team, and has assisted in management of incidents including the 2011 Joplin EF-5 Tornado and Superstorm Sandy.
