Carnahan, Clay Keep Funding Close in Congressional District Race

According to the latest campaign finance reports, Clay has more money on hand, while Carnahan has outspent the incumbent.

Rep. Russ Carnahan has built quite the war chest for this campaign season compared to 1st Congressional District incumbent Rep. William Lacy Clay.

According to the campaign finance reports filed through June 30, Carnahan has accumulated a total of more than $1.2 million, while Clay has collected more than $550,000.

So far, Carnahan has spent more than $875,000, while Clay has spent a little more than $400,000.

On the flip side, Clay still has on hand more than $420,000, while Carnahan has $366,000.

The two will face off in the Aug. 7 primary.
