Candidates File For Next April's Local Elections

A handful of candidates filed to run in local school board and City of Fenton elections next April.

Two candidates were early to have their names placed on the ballot for seats on the Fenton Board of Aldermen. On Wednesday, Carol Brennan signed up to vie for the Ward 1 aldermanic seat that expires next April. Harold Bade is the current Ward 1 alderman. As Wednesday, he had yet to file for reelection.

In Fenton's Ward 2, Jerry Sorge filed on Tuesday for the seat that expires next April. Mike Beiser is the current Ward 2 alderman. He also had yet to file for re-election as of Wednesday.

Three candidates in the Lindbergh School District have filed for the two seats that will be available in the April 3 election. James Goss, Karen Schuster and Kate Holloway filed Wednesday for the school board positions that currently are held by Mark Rudoff and Kenneth Fey.

Geoff Rigabar and Peggy Devoy are up for re-election next April in the Rockwood School District Board of Education elections. On Tuesday, Rigabar filed for re-election. Devoy, who has been a school board member since 2006, indicated she would not seek a third term.

Two other Rockwood candidates made their intentions known Tuesday by filing for the school board positions to be contested next April. They are Victor Hiken, of Ellisville, and Sherri Rogers, of Chesterfield.

In the Northwest School District, incumbent Chris Shelton, of House Springs, filed for re-election to one of the two school board vacancies that will be contested next April. The seats held by Shelton and Brian Haskins will be up for grabs. Also filing for a Northwest School Board position on Tuesday was Victoria James, of Cedar Hill.

The election filing period extends through Jan. 17.  The election is Apr. 3, 2012.
