Other facts

I understand Jefferson County, our governmental system and how to lead. As a long-term resident, I understand local issues and am dedicated to serving Jefferson County. I have studied American history, politics and law in academic and real-life settings. I have learned to listen, define issues and develop solutions. I can read and write clear, concise laws, policies, procedures and ordinances. As the first chair and District 2 council representative, I developed creative, thoughtful solutions for local government, such as: 1. The creation of monthly council work sessions. 2. The creation of the Subject Matter Studies Program, which help the council respect and leverage individual council member strengths while encouraging collaboration. 3. The development of an online document center for information sharing between the executive and legislative branches. 4. The coordination of the videotaping and online posting of council meetings. As a department manager for a major corporation, the first chair of the County Council, community volunteer and vice president of a nonprofit Christian organization, I am a proven strong leader with a heart for service. I ask for your vote.
