Thieves, Burglars Focus on Games, Weapons

The following information was provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department

Emerson Road, High Ridge

A woman reported gaming systems and games were missing from her apartment on Emerson Road in High Ridge Sept. 1 while she left it unlocked for 30 minutes.

Missing were a Wii game system, eight Wii games, an Xbox 360 gme system , and five Xbox games. Nothing else was discovered missing during the woman's 30-minute absence from the apartment. The value of the missing items was set at $750.

Tricia Ave., High Ridge

Handguns and a GPS unit were stolen Sept. 1 from an unlocked car on Tricia Ave. High Ridge. Missing from the center console of the vehicle were a Cobra Enterprises two shot Derringer, .a 38 caliber Chrome finish handgun with with wood grips, and a Garmin GPS unit. The value of the missing items was set at $529

Sycamore Springs Drive

Part of a black latex glove was discovered below a broken bathroom window at a mobile home on Sycamore Springs Drive, High Ridge, that was burglarized Sept. 3. Stolen items included a flatscreen TV, a Nintendo Wii game system, an Xbox game system, two pairs of stereo speakers, a compound bow, three hunting axes, a DVD player, a CD case and 100 miscellaneous knives. The value of the items was set at $2,551

The victim said had returned home from work to find her bathroom window broken and the items missing. Deputies collected the latex glove and also took DNA evidence from the bloody window frame.

Sapphire Drive, High Ridge

A PlayStation 3 game system and five PlayStation 3 games were reported stolen Sept. 2 from a home on Sapphire Drive in High Ridge. Total value of the items was set at $550.

The victim, who said she routinely leaves her doors unlocked, discovered the items missing when she returned home from work
