Sullivan Man Charged With Intent to Make Meth

St. Louis County Police said an officer found Ronnie Eugene Copeland had pseudoephedrine during a traffic stop near Fenton.

A Sullivan man is accused of making methamphetamine after a traffic stop near Fenton.

Ronnie Eugene Copeland, 29, of the 300 block of Virginia Street in Sullivan, was charged Tuesday with possession of meth precursor drugs with intent to make meth and driving while his license was revoked or suspended.

St. Louis County Police said an officer pulled Copeland over for a traffic violation at Hawkins Road and Bowles Avenue near Fenton May 9. During a search of the car, the officer discovered a box of pseudoephedrine.

“Based upon the defendant’s statements, police determined the defendant intended to use the pseudoephedrine to make meth,” according to a court document.

Copeland is being held in the Franklin County Adult Detention Center.

Bail for Copeland was set at $3,000 for the meth charge. Bail was set at $500 for the driving while revoked charge.
