Strong-Arm Robbery in Grocery Store Parking Lot

A woman's purse was stolen in a strong-arm robbery June 19 on a grocery store parking lot on Sugar Creek Square, Fenton. The woman was holding the purse on her right arm as she loaded groceries into her car when when the passenger of a vehicle, believed to be a Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHD, grabbed the purse as it was driving through the parking lot. The woman told sheriff's deputies she allowed the purse to slide down her arm to avoid being dragged by the man in the vehicle. The cream-colored purse with a broken blue handle contained a black T-Mobile smart phone, a driver's license, miscellaneous cosmetics, a Sam's Club membership card and $20 in cash. The total value of the items was set at $200. An investigation is ongoing.

A black and pink semi-automatic handgun was stolen June 14 from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Fieldcrest Drive, Fenton. The vehicle owner said the gun was kept in a side pocket of the driver's side door of his vehicle. The handgun is valued at $200.
