Strong-Arm Robbery in Grocery Store Parking Lot

Incident reports from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Sugar Creek Square, Fenton.

A woman's purse was stolen in a strong-arm robbery June 19 on a grocery store parking lot on Sugar Creek Square, Fenton. The woman was holding the purse on her right arm as she loaded groceries into her car when when the passenger of a vehicle, believed to be a Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHD, grabbed the purse as it was driving through the parking lot. The woman told sheriff's deputies she allowed the purse to slide down her arm to avoid being dragged by the man in the vehicle. The cream-colored purse with a broken blue handle contained a black T-Mobile smart phone, a driver's license, miscellaneous cosmetics, a Sam's Club membership card and $20 in cash. The total value of the items was set at $200. An investigation is ongoing.
